I found alot of hypothetical info and very little intrinsic info on verifications, temps on 12vhp plug and port, fan controllers and if all 3 will work and just general run of the mill this is what happens.
Saw alot of "i wouldnt do that", the matrix pcb is just better, btf nonsense sense' (haha), etc…
What I did
I twisted in agony with the idea for a couple weeks. Literally turned on the dusty non gaming 5090, 285k, 8200mt/s 10000watt behemoth sitting in an antec performance ft1 a few times but only got to login screen before shutting off.
Last night I grew a pair and put the family to bed so they wouldn't see a spectacular fireworks show in the living room.
Grabbed the matrix 800 watt bios off tpu. Yay for tpu! Ty tpu
Downloaded nvflash64 to a new folder. Got off tpu. Ty tpu! Always dl a new nvlash bc im a creature of superstitions.
Switch my gpu bios to silent (I would rather brick that one and rebuild it) (also this part should be done with pc off. Then start process
Disabled my display adapter in device manager like a good boy
Dos box in admin
Went to path where nvflash64 is. Using the non 64 version will result in unexpected results.
Ran nvflash64
Did the ole 4sin(x)+2cos(x)-8=? And wrote the rom in.
Let it run and hit Y twice.
Restarted pc but noticed sone weird stuff like gpuz wasn't getting sensor readings. It showed up as a asus matrix. Then realized I needed to update my gpu drivers. I think I was just a little frazzled and didn't reenable my display adapter correctly.
Once I drove it up then restarted pc. I turned on Furmark and had a good 20% plus gain. I only used gpuz for sensors and it topped at 750watts.
I used an infrared temp gun and my 12vhpwr plug stayed around 25°c top end. Though the port around the side and bottom stayed around 40°c. I believe that is ok? Maybe someone could help me understand what temps are accommodating there.
Anyways, here are a couple pictures I snapped with my phone. Any input would be helpful and appreciated.
