We, all know that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's One Shot, One Kill mission takes place in 1996. That makes sense for someone like the original Captain Price in the as he was born sometime earlier (my headcanon is during the 1960s) which allows him to be in the SAS by the time of 1996 than the rebooted Captain Price who was born in 1985 who would instead be 11 years old.
This means that the attempted assassination of Imran Zakhaev, although we do not see again in the reboot, it is implied it did occur, has to have occured sometime during the 2000s, BUT it would have to occur before Imran Zakhaev, whom in the reboot dies of cancer by 2011.
