Recently, an amazing mod that adds Duel Monsters’ Yami Yugi to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. This wasn’t just a reskin as Yami Yugi had his own moveset with unique mechanics.

If Yami Yugi is able to draw and hold all five pieces of Exodia before running out of cards in his deck, he will instantly win the match. Even if the opponent still has all three of their characters at full health, Yami Yugi will automatically defeat them with Exodia.

For the base game of Dragon Ball FighterZ, SS4 Gogeta’s x100 Big Bang Kamehameha (after performing the Finish Sign seven times) is an attack that simply cannot be contested. Should it connect against an opponent’s character, they’ll be dealt more damage than what they can actually survive, no matter how high their health total is.

Exal7ed recently released an interesting clip that had SS4 Gogeta going up against Yami Yugi. SS4 Gogeta had already gained access to a fully powered x100 Big Bang Kamehameha and proceeded to fire it against Yami Yugi.

By this point in the match, Yami Yugi was already holding the arms and legs of Exodia with 29 cards remaining in his deck. If he was able to draw “Exodia the Forbidden One,” he’d be able to unleash an attack that was even strong enough to beat the most powerful attack in the base game of Dragon Ball FighterZ.

This left Yami Yugi with less than a 4% chance to win outright on his next (and final) draw. As such, there was a brief montage of Yami Yugi believing in the “Heart of the Cards” with his friends believing in Yami Yugi himself.

Of course, those of us who may have tried to invoke the “Heart of the Cards” in a real life match of Yu-Gi-Oh! back in the day can probably tell you that… the Heart of the Cards isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be. Find out what happens next in the video below:
