Hey folks,
my system is a few years old but I am on a 3 weeks holiday break now and would love to get into OCing again for more FPS and just because I can with the cooling I have.
I am currently OCing a 9900k on a Z390 Waterforce. I followed this guide here: https://forums.bit-tech.net/index.php?threads/9900k-5ghz-1-2v-guide-gigabyte-z390-master-5-2ghz-1-28v-guide-pg2.353729/page-2 and my results are as schown in the screenshot.
Got an avg temp of 87ish and my Voltage is around 1.255V at 5GHz.
But, even though I set my Core Ratio to 52 it only operates at 50. May this be caused by the AVX Offset 2 in the Bios settings? To fix this I would need to up my Vcore right? Which in turn ends up in higher temps on the cores which could lead into throttling? Would love to hear from some more experienced people
My water temperature is seen in HWInfo at "PCH Temperature". I have a huge loop with three 480mm and one 360mm.
My 1080ti is also watercooled and I want to OC her in the next step too. Would use afterburner if it's still a good tool to do so. And then try to get 2000+ MHz.
DRAM runs on normal X.M.P. at 3600MHz as also seen in the screenshot. Never overclocked my DRAM so far, so not sure about that.
Water temps overall shouldnt be a problem so I want to get as much out of my 9900k and 1080ti as possible.
What would be your next steps? Trying to up the vcore so I reach maybe the 5.2.GHz and maybe increasing the LLC if it becomes unstable?
How am I faring so far with this OC? More to gain?
Thanks in advance for any advise 🙂
Screenshot is 30mins into AIDA64.
