DEADWOOD (KOTA) – Deadwood’s gaming industry recorded a 10 percent increase in November compared to the previous year, according to the Deadwood Gaming Association.
The November growth contributes to an overall increase of 2.7 percent for 2025, the association said in a release.
“A 10 percent monthly increase is always welcome, but the 2.7 percent increase over a strong 2024 is what is most positive,” said George Milos, director of the Deadwood Gaming Association.
Milos credited good weekend weather, large conventions and events for the November boost. Five shows at Deadwood Mountain Grand also contributed to the increase.
Slot machines generated the largest revenue share with a 10.59 percent increase. Table games showed a modest increase, while sports wagering continued its upward trend with an 18.93 percent increase.
Taxable gross revenue for November totaled $10,644,197. The state collected $957,977 in gaming tax, with $106,441.97 going to the state general fund, $340,614.31 to South Dakota Tourism and $85,153.58 to Lawrence County.
