This is just a short reminder about forgotten game modes, I'll soon make a post explaining each mode.
By the way, when I looking at Combined Arms images, they're normally low quality. I found a way to edit the Cold War images to make them look much better. What do you think?
Many of Cold War’s game modes are now deserted. Modes that used to be fun are now impossible to play due to low player counts.
Over time, several playlists that offered something different from tdm were quietly abandoned. Not because they were bad, but because people no longer play them.
Some example of dead modes:
- Fireteam – essentially dead.
- Combined Arms – almost impossible to find matches.
- VIP Escort – playable at night, but with a very small and repetitive players.
- Face Off (6v6 maps) – mostly abandoned.
- Double Agent – forgotten and no populated.
It’s a shame, because many of these modes had real potential and offered a different pace compared to the usual playlists.
At this point, public matchmaking clearly isn’t enough anymore. If these modes are ever going to be played again, it’ll probably have to come from the community organizing itself, like people used to do before everything relied on matchmaking.
