SAN ANTONIO – A local institution serving the military community has been faced with a devastating robbery.
On Monday, the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 76 announced that it had fallen victim to another burglary, occurring at approximately 3 a.m.
The break-in resulted in the theft of an undisclosed amount of money from the post’s vsweep dispersing machine. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
According to the VFW, the vsweeps gaming machines play a crucial role in supporting the post’s Veteran Service Dog programs and help cover operating costs while providing entertainment for members and guests.
In light of the burglary, the post says it will need to redirect funds to bolster security measures, potentially impacting other essential veteran programs.
