Puripol Boonson has rounded off a fairytale home Southeast Asian Games by leading Thailand to the men’s 4x100m relay gold medal.

The Thai teenage sprinter stormed round the Suphachalasai National Stadium as the men’s team triumphed with a new SEA Games record of 38.28s on Monday (15 December). Malaysia won silver in 39.03s, followed by Indonesia in 39.51s for bronze.

Boonson adds to his newly recouped Southeast Asian 100m and 200m titles by completing the triple crown, a feat he achieved at the 2021 Games in Vietnam held in 2022.

Thailand enjoyed another golden run just minutes later in the women’s relay, pipping silver medallists Vietnam and bronze medallists Philippines on the line to take gold in 43.88s.
