Delidding my new 14900K. Tried it on an older CPU and it worked great but now I’m nervous to do it on this one. Is the IHS cleaned enough?
I’m gonna use some Liquid Metal to clean the die as best I can but can I scrape the rest off with a plastic scraper? Seems a little scary scratching away at a $500 cpu die. How polished does it need to be? I’ll be putting the original IHS on it. What exactly should I NOT do? They don’t seem overly gently in the videos I’ve seen cleaning the die
