(I’m not much of a pc know it all guy I’m just a carpenter who’s mechanically inclined)
A few months ago my 15 year old nephew told me his pc just stopped working after he allegedly unplugged a LED light while it was on?
So he finally came up with the money to purchase a new power supply unit; last night we went and purchased one from Best Buy.
With the new PSU in and all of the parts still installed I went ahead and pressed the button. Fans spinning light flickered for thunder 2 seconds then it went off.
Which lead me to believe it was more than the PSU. Wishful thinking, huh? 😅
So I continue to pull and clean the RAM, Graphics card with multi purpose duster etc. after testing everything with the new PSU but the CPU.. it still won’t stay on.
To my understanding the motherboard is probably shot. But the one part I didn’t pull was the cpu.
Don’t have thermal paste to reapply and want to wait until I do.
All cords were checked and plugged in when testing btw.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
