Digital Extremes fans have been champing at the bit for the next phase of Soulframe, and that phase is finally here with the beginning of founder pack sales. Prelude 12 – that’s DE’s name for pre-alpha testing phases here – introduces the greatsword weapon grip type, a new elixir, a new class of sub-bosses, new totems and runes, a new vendor (to be clear, it is not a vendor that sells camels; it is a vendor that is a camel), siege encounters, and a newbie rework.

“Ease into a significant rework of new player onboarding, making it easier for players to discover new Fables, track progress in the journal, unlock fast travel with Wevetseeds, and try out all three starting Pacts,” the studio says.

Finally, it turns out we’re getting four different founder packs – three packs ($29.99 each) themed around your choice of fighter, mage, and archer, and one large pack ($99.99) that includes all three and enough test codes to invite the Brady family.

“Each of these path options [The Wyld Thethren, Wyld Oscelda, and Wyld Sirin] grants instant access to Soulframe Preludes and is outfitted with an exclusive character Wyld Pact, main weapon and sidearm, armour set, talisman, dye Hues, bird cosmetics, Arcs (premium currency), Armor Bestitching items, two extra Preludes invite codes, among other benefits like the Envoy’s Sphere Longsword Skin for Warframe.

“This ultimate option [Path of the Wyld Paragon] includes all the benefits of other Founders’ paths in addition to an exclusive Paragon Greatsword and an additional allotment of both Arcs (premium currency) and Armor Bestitching items, as well as 10 Preludes invite codes to share with friends and family.”

Do note that you can’t buy a pack on Steam just yet, and DE has committed to not making the founder pack items accessible again (except on new platforms): “Items in Founders bundles will be unattainable once the opt-in period is over. The only way to obtain these items is through one of these bundles. Founders will reopen for a time-limited window on new platforms as we add them in the future.”

Finally, DE has said it’s “investigating issues” relating to certain regions being unable to buy founder packs and items not being delivered to accounts.
