The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection launched last week to impressive critical reviews, however, many players are not feeling quite as good about the experience.
Digital Eclipse recently released a new hotfix update for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which in part was supposed to reduce the input lag for PlayStation users, but the difference doesn’t appear to be as much as fans were hoping for.
Initial input lag tests for the Mortal Kombat Kollection were all over the place, but it was especially high on PlayStation in particular.
The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions of the compilation were measured by Nigel ‘Noodalls’ Woodall to have a whopping 101 ms of latency, which equated to around 6.3 frames of lag.
This was more than twice as high as the Xbox Series X version that showed around 44 ms or 2.75 frames of latency while the PC release could get as low as 18.35 ms or just 1.15 frames of latency.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners are apparently on the higher end of the spectrum too with the results showing 66.25 ms / 4.14 frames of lag, which is still about average for what we see for many titles.
With the new update, Noodalls went back and tested the PlayStation versions of the Mortal Kombat compilation, and while there is an improvement, it’s still not enough to bring it in line with the other consoles.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 now registered in Noodalls’ latest experiments at 83.42 ms / 5.21 frames for the PS5 version and pretty much the same for the PS4 version running on the PS5.

So that’s around a 1-frame reduction after the patch and still nearly double the Xbox.
Hopefully, the developers will continue to improve all of the systems across more updates, but some players aren’t willing to wait that long it seems.
There are reports of Sony offering refunds for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection on PlayStation, which they don’t normally do.
Since PlayStation doesn’t have a refund policy for digital purchases, it’s rare to see them go along with giving players their money back, which could suggest that quite a few people have been hitting up customer support.
We will be releasing another Quickfix update for the Steam version of MK:LK later today that should address online-related crashes that certain players have been experiencing, as well as some desync issues.

Digital Eclipse has rolled out the hotfix for Xbox now as well as another update for Steam, so we can expect to see the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection touched up regularly for the immediate future at least.
