First i had a pretty old pc that my father had bought when he was younger with Intel Core i7-920 with GIGABYTE EX58 EXTREME and the most important part the PSU it was Corsair HX1000W Modular Power supply then about in 2022 i have made my own pc build with 600W PSU after sometime i wanted to upgrade to RTX 3080 OC i didn't have a good PSU so i used the one my dad had in the old PC and it worked perfectly and then suddenly the last week while i was playing it Takes Two with my brother the PC suddenly stopped working and there was a bomb like sound "later i have known that this was capacitor explosion inside the PSU" in the PC and then i smelled burning.

At this time my heart fell down and i saw smoke rising from the PC first thing i did shut the power and get everyone out after that i went to check the PC i didn't know what happened and what to do i asked some friends and the said to me that it might be from the PSU assuming that it is very old also the smell of smoke was too strong from it but I couldn't leave anything to chance so i took the full PC to a mall where i can test every part and after some tests the PC worked successfully but the PSU DIED (2008 – 2025), i bought XPG Core Reactor II 850W and it worked fine for a while but then ……

After approximately 1 day with XPG PSU i started to notice a strange sound of an electric spark coming from the PC at first i thought it was normal or from fans hitting with any wire but the sound was strange and i didn't hear it before at this time i went to the bathroom "draws power from the same electrical line as the room where the PC is located" i saw the light flickering like crazy while the PC is making that strange electrical sound, at instant i shutdown and cut the power from the PC as i was traumatized but then i noticed that when i plug any device that draws high electricity the lights of the bathroom and my room starts to flicker like crazy.

At this time i asked a friend and he told me that this might be a problem from the electrical socket in my room after what happened with the old Corsair PSU it might be damaged so he asked me to try a different one but when i tried any different one in the same room they all have the same problem but when i used other ones in other rooms the PC worked without any sound. At that time, we got electrician to check the house electrical panel, i was shocked to find that 3 circuit breakers were burned "one of them was connected to my room" and the main house circuit breaker was charred from above.

Till now i don't know what happened but my conclusion that at the time i was playing with my Brother i remember that the electricity went on and then off for a split second i think at that time a Power Surge happened to the whole house and to protect the PC the PSU sacrificed itself and burned alone then after i got the new XPG PSU the circuit breaker was already badly damaged so it started to make these things.

I think that if i didn't play with my brother at that time I might never know that happened and the circuit breaker could have been badly damaged without anybody knowing and a disaster could have happened.

Thanks Corsair for that GOATED PSU "HX1000W".
