Release commemorates series’ 30th anniversary
Mobile publishing company Edia announced on Monday it will port the Battle Arena Toshinden game series to modern platforms as part of a licensing agreement commemorating the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The company will port the first three Battle Arena Toshinden games with scheduled release windows of 2026 and 2027.

Tamsoft and Tomy released the original Battle Arena Toshinden game as one of the first fighting games in a 3D environment for the PlayStation in 1995. The sequel Battle Arena Toshinden 2 launched in December of the same year, and Battle Arena Toshinden 3 launched in 1996.
The games inspired an anime adaptation in 1996. Central Park Media released the series in North America. The series received an English dub.
