Hello everyone,

I‘m an absolute newbie when it comes to overclocking and making my way through the BIOS.

However, I managed to successfully overclock my i7-9700k to stable 4.9ghz on my rather old Gigabyte Z370m D3H motherboard using the simple „CPU Upgrade“ option (had to select i7-8700k 4.9ghz option as the -9700k isn‘t available in the list – yeah, it‘s not optimal but it worked quite well).

That was on BIOS Version F12. Just found out you can (or should) keep your BIOS up to date – so I installed version F14.

But now somehow overclocking doesn’t work anymore. Neither by using the beginner friendly „CPU upgrade“ function or by doing it all manually (did everything according to this tutorial, tried different CPU Vcores etc.: https://youtu.be/mcZkEZ8x3oA?si=–E7PVWf1Ujl_Pf5).

Whatever values I change, the CPU is doing its own thing.

Typing this on my phone right now so I‘ll add some screenshots tomorrow. Just let me know whatever you guys need.

Most basic stuff:

Gigabyte Z370M D3H
i7-9700k
RX 9070xt OC
2x 16GB DDR4-3200 (XMP enabled)
Win 11

Maybe there‘s someone who can help me out! 🙂

Cheers
Max
