It’s only been a little while since C. Viper became the latest character in Street Fighter 6. Players are slowly beginning to figure her out, but it’s clear that her complexity from Street Fighter 4 has carried over with this more modern appearance.

Just prior to C. Viper’s release, Reject|Daigo Umehara was contemplating potentially switching from Akuma to either Ryu or C. Viper. With C. Viper now released, it seems that Daigo is now leaning more towards this idea of becoming a C. Viper main.

“So are you going to try to get [C. Viper] in shape before Akuma croaks?” asked one of Daigo’s viewers during his recent stream.

“Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with the competition with Akuma at this rate, so… Well, I don’t know,” responded Daigo. “I’m sure there will be a rebalance. So it depends on that. But I want to work on Viper!”

Following this, Daigo noted that it would certainly be easier for him to switch to Ryu instead, but it’s C. Viper’s steep learning curve that really seems to have Daigo’s interest.

“I’m sure Ryu would be much easier to get in shape, but that seems boring, so I’d rather go with Viper,” continued Daigo. “With Viper, it seems like it’ll take a while for my brain and fingers to sync up.”
