Which is extra fitting since Guile was modeled after Polnareff to begin with

Like many forms of Japanese media, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure offered some inspiration to Street Fighter over the years, and now, it’s currently part of the game itself.

Street Fighter 6 players are running out of time to pick up a special costume color that’s clearly based on a certain JoJo’s character.

The costume in question is for Guile’s Outfit 2 EX color 2

It is currently featured as a premium reward in SF6’s ongoing C. Viper Arrives Fighting Pass, but it’s just about to expire.

This costume color turns Guile’s hair gray, his tank top black, his pants white/gray and his boots black, which JoJo fans should recognize pretty much instantly.

The addition is a cheeky reference from Capcom to JoJo’s Part 3’s Jean Pierre Polnareff, which is extra fitting given his ties to Guile’s creation.

Street Fighter 2 producer Noritaka Funamizu stated that Guile’s overall design was modeled after Polnareff originally with his hair being made to look more like Rudol von Stroheim and his name based on yet another JoJo character, J. Geil.

Guile’s new EX Color in Street Fighter 6 is based on Jean Pierre Polnareff, adding onto the numerous JoJo references in Guile’s design.

This isn’t the only time Street Fighter has pulled from JoJo’s for their character designs either with Rose also famously being based on Part 2’s Lisa Lisa.

To get this Guile color, players will need to reach level 8 in the Fighting Pass with the premium pass available for 250 Fighter Coins or $5 USD.

The C. Viper pass is set to expire tonight, October 21, at 11:59 p.m. PT, so you only have a few hours left to acquire it before the color is gone.
