Hi everyone, update to my previous post, I finally had time to properly test my 2x48GB G.Skill Royal kit (6000CL28 @ 1.35V). I believe these are M-Die sticks. I have a 9950x3d and asus x870e hero combo.
I made the changes u/Discipline_Unfair recommended on my first post which improved the benchmarks a bit and it seems to be stable after testing with Karhu, TM5, VT3, OCCT and P95, each at least 3 hours. I also tried Nitro 1,2,1 which worked fine but I didn’t see any performance gain so I disabled it back (I only did this because I still don’t understand what Nitro is).
I tried VDD 1.40 and VSOC 1.19 as well which seemed stable on stress tests but my benchmarks were consistently 1-2% worse, so I dialed them back up to 1.42 and 1.22. My current setup is without a RAM fan so I didn’t try high dram voltage yet (above 1.435V on Asus bios). With current setup, the sticks already reach around 50-52C. The system didn’t boot when I tried CL26 with 1.435V.
As for the way forward, I am planning to install a fan for the RAM to have it cooler, but do you think there is any headroom for OC? Or should I just be set with these on the M-Die kit? I can try fine tuning some of the sub-timings but I have no idea what to adjust from this point.
