2XKO early access has only recently begun. The playable characters at the moment are Ahri, Yasuo, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Vi, Jinx, Braum, Blitzcrank, Teemo and Warwick.
However, it would seem that two characters in particular are perceived as being leaps and bounds better than the rest. AlietteFaye recently released character usage stats for the Challenger rank in 2XKO (the highest possible ranking at the moment) that really seems to highlight just how strong these characters seem to be.
Of the 338 instances of characters being used in the Challenger rank, 72 of them are Ekko. Another 64 are made up of Yasuo.
This is quite the leap compared to the next character that appears in the stats, Ahri, who only has 38 instances of being used by players in the Challenger rank. After that, there are 29 Teemo users.
Yasuo is mostly being used as the initial point character while Ekko is absolutely dominating thanks to his powerful assist options. Based on these stats, it seems likely that Yasuo and Ekko could be receiving some significant nerfs in the future.
Notably, NYChrisG released a 2XKO tier list that declared that Yasuo was even better than Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s Vergil. This take seems accurate based on these newly released statistics.
