Joe Higashi just released for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as the third character of its first season, following Andy Bogard and Street Fighter’s Ken Masters.
Although we got an early look at Joe from some content creators a few weeks ago, including Desk himself unleashing one of his signature combo videos for the character, but now that he’s out Desk has something different in store for us.
While he is definitely most known for his combo videos, Desk is also quite known for making videos showcasing the development or evolution of a character across the ages.
This is one of those, where you can see where the inspiration of Joe’s moves came from, whether that be as far back as the early Fatal Fury games, the Capcom crossover title Capcom vs. SNK 2 or even as recent as King of Fighters 15.
It’s not exactly surprising to see his special moves and normals look similar across the years, but there are some really neat details in here too and the return of an actual symbolic tiger during his specials is very welcome.
Personally, I feel like Joe looks better than he ever has and that SNK did an amazing job with him, but have a look for yourself at Desk’s video below and see what you think.
Have you had the chance to try out Joe yet in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves? If so, what do you think about this latest iteration of SNK’s classic Muay Thai warrior?
