Just finished my first round of stability testing on an undervolted 7700 with a low-profile cooler. Looking for feedback on whether these settings are actually stable or if I'm experiencing clock stretching.

Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
  • Motherboard: Colorful CVN B850I GAMING FROZEN V14
  • RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR)
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 (low-profile)

Current Settings:

  • Curve Optimizer: -30 All Cores
  • SOC Voltage: 1.175V
  • High Efficiency Mode: Enabled (Tightest)

Initial Test Results:

Passed OCCT stability test (1 hour) with no errors detected.

Stability Testing:

  • AIDA64 System Stability Test: Passed
  • OCCT CPU + RAM test: 1 hour, no errors

Questions:

  1. Are these settings actually stable? Should I run longer tests (overnight, etc.)?
  2. Could I be experiencing clock stretching? The -30 CO is pretty aggressive – are my reported clock speeds accurate or is performance actually degraded? What benchmarks should I run to verify?
  3. Is -30 all-core too aggressive for the 7700? Should I back off to something like -20 or do per-core tuning?

Anyone with experience undervolting the 7700: What are your stable CO values? Have you experienced clock stretching with aggressive undervolts? Any red flags you see in my setup?
