So I found out the hard way. I previously ran a Ryzen 5600 and then picked up a 9070XT Reaper. After noticing poor performance overall, pulling up the overlay found my CPU just couldn't keep up with the games I play. Don't get me wrong, everything was playable but pushing to higher quality presets started to show the flaws.

Decided to start shopping for a 5700x3D but Amazon pulled them as they were discontinued so there was me stuck. Of course being in demand, local second hand prices rocketed. I did some digging and eventually setting for aa Ryzen 5800XT. Whilst there was a lovely uplift, it still wasn't enough.

Thankfully, the CPU gods smiled upon me, for once and caught a break at a 5700x3D on marketplace. Installed, setup and fired up my biggest challenge. Horizon Zero Dawn and jeez, the overall smoothness, 1% lows all felt and looked much more to my liking.

The end result, the uplift I was looking for. It's beautiful. Cannot cannot cannot recommend ever settling for anything else (unless a 5800x3D comes up for sale also). I'm truly speechless and how enjoyable and powerful my system has become.
