PowerWash Simulator is a game I’ve sunk over 200 hours into. I’ve cleaned everything there is to clean, and much of it multiple times over. And so, I’m eagerly awaiting PowerWash Simulator 2, which is due to come out in Fall 2025.

Here’s the thing: it’s Fall. It’s 2025. The game is imminent. We know it. The devs at FuturLab know it. Yet with every single social media post on the PowerWash Simulator platforms, we’re teased, and I’m worried we’re starting to fall into delusion. We yearn to clean, but FuturLab continues to watch and laugh as we speculate and theorise. Is this a conspiracy? I’m starting to think it is.

I Love And Hate PowerWash Simulator 2’s Social Media Posts

While fans continue to wait for any news of a release date for PowerWash Simulator 2, the social media posts remain just as unhinged as ever. Taking a look at the PowerWash Simulator TikTok page, you’ll see various posts from recent days that offer memes, jokes, or mockery.

One is the character spraying a large piano key, causing it to play a note. Specifically, the beginning note of My Chemical Romance’s Black Parade. It then cuts to a shot of the character, before looking at the camera, donning a black uniform.

Another shows the character spraying a filthy wall, sketching out one of those Spotify audio visualisers that acts as a QR code for sharing music. Once complete, it’s scanned only to take us directly to Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Rickrolled by PowerWash Simulator in 2025.

A third sees a character with a telescope and the text “Location: Campside, Date: 24/09/2025”- the date of the post. The character then looks through the telescope, before seeing the game’s iconic Gnome float up to the sky in front of it. The caption for this post reads, “The only thing Raptured was our release date. Sorry”.

Finally, another post has the caption, “This is what you all look like. You all sound like Bendersnoot Cabbagepatch from Sherlock Holmes.” It begins with the giant hand statue from the first game pointing off into the distance, before panning over to see a character float up into the sky in a meditative pose as numbers, words, and questions begin to float around them, looking for any clues and connections as to what the release date could be.

Marketing Your Video Game 101

This has been going on for weeks. For months. I’m beginning to think there’s no real social media strategy here, and FuturLab is just having fun. Honestly, I think that’s the right move. Fans will get excited/delusional for news on anticipated games regardless – just look at Silksong – so why not just have fun and urge it on?

Many fans are fully under the assumption that FuturLab will shadowdrop the game any day now, before gaslighting us all into thinking that it’s been out for a while. This level of speculation is hilarious, but at the same time, that scenario is entirely believable. I kind of hope FuturLab does exactly that, if not to just make the game arrive sooner. I need it. We all need it.
