Back in 2012ish, and before Prey 2017 was created, there was a Prey 2 being developed. Unfortunately, it got canceled after a bad demo and probably some other problems I don't remember. But I remember being insanely excited after that trailer and the general concept.
Being a bounty hunter in some futuristic, cyberpunk alien world, relying on various and cool alien tech, weapons, and gadgets; doing some recon and detective work to track down and bag the target (dead, or alive for a bonus); and being smart and knowledgeable with the environment to make the hunt easier if a chase happens.
But since it's been over a decade, I've played a bunch of other games with mechanics I love, too, so why not mix it all into one?
-
Everything I listed about Prey 2, but also…
-
Using stealth to sneak and set up the environment with traps like in Hitman
-
Open cyberpunk world and rpg elements like Cyberpunk 2077
-
Rogue-like gameplay that generates new environments and bounty targets with different constraints that you have to figure out like a puzzle.
This would be a dream bounter-hunter game for me. I know there's some games out there that many of these things together already, but none have scratched that itch all-in-one with perfect execution. And yes, I acknowledge it as an overly ambitious pipe dream that may never happen, but it's a wish.
Do you guys have a dream concept game of your own?
