The Japanese video game company Sunsoft (known for releases like Blaster Master, Ufouria and Trip World) is teasing something big…
In a brief post on social media today, it revealed plans to share some important news. There will be a “major announcement” taking place next week on 16th September 2025 (translation via Gematsu). The image attached to this message is simply the date and local time of the event:

During the original Switch generation, Sunsoft revived multiple games and series. More recently, in 2024, it even released the retro game selection Sunsoft Is Back!, which was comprised of three Famicom titles.

It’d be cool if it was Ufouria The Saga 3. I really liked that last game they released. If it had a little more budget behind it and had less repetitive environments, I would have probably loved it

A Batman collection would be sweet.

I mean mouse mode and lemmings??
Sunsoft is back… Again … Just like Slim Shady… You can tell a friend if you want.

Probably “Sunsoft is Back 2” with 3 games

I hope it’s NOT a “we’re downsizing or closing” kinda news.
If Ufouria The Saga 3 comes out, I’m ready to set a reminder right away and throw myself a little party.

I do hope it’s a Remake of Roadrunner on the SNES…..

We only really want to see the Batman and Blaster Master games, and Journey to Silius. Am I wrong? 😛
Edit:
Before anybody else suggests NSO, I don’t want to pay a continuous subscription for permanent access to a couple of games. I own Blaster Master and Journey to Silius on NES anyway. The topic is games that could be part of this announcement that we could own.

@HalBailman
for NSO subscribers, Blaster Master and Journey to Silius are on the NES app, and Blaster Master Enemy Below is on the GB app.

Sunsoft also owns the Clock Tower IP. Hopefully it’s a remaster of Clock Tower 2, Ghost Head and or CT3.

@EarthboundBenjy Not interested in paying a continuous yearly subscription for permanent access to a couple of games. Pertaining to this article, I nominated the games I hoped would be announced that I could own.

Remake of Death & Return of Super-Man, their greatest game ever made and the only good Super-Man game in existence.

Nice, looking forward to it – should finally play some of the games by Sunsoft already on Switch (especially Ufouria) myself when I can first and foremost, though!

Fingers crossed for Chameleon Twist, even if the original devs aren’t a thing, I think…

Need a full-on remake of Madoola, plz.

Hmm, what’s their biggest franchise? Blaster Master? After Burner was huge in arcades…

An announcement of an announcement? 🙄
Great. Another announcement from a studio who specializes in animation that depicts a girl with a 12 year old’s face but gigantic breasts and super sexualized. We definitely need more of that coming out of Japan.

I advise you to stop believing that Sunsoft is going to re-release games based on Warner licenses; I doubt that will happen.
It could be an Albert Odyssey, a Galaxy Fight, a Chameleon Twist, a Power Quest, a T.R.A.G., an Eternal Eyes, a Monkey Magic.
