I never really thought about the colors that represent item rarity in games, think Diablo, WoW, etc. Is “Magical” supposed to be green or blue?

When I started working on my game, a lot of players complained about the colors I used (the first option below). Now I’m curious what everyone thinks is the “right” rarity color scheme:

  1. Gray (Trash), White (Normal), Blue (Magical), Orange (Rare), Purple (Epic)
  2. Gray (Trash), White (Normal), Green (Magical), Blue (Rare), Purple (Epic), Orange/Gold (Legendary/Set)
  3. White (Normal), Green (Magical), Blue (Rare), Purple (Epic), Orange/Gold (Legendary), Red (Set/Mythic)
  4. Junk (Gray), Common (White), Magical (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), Legendary (Gold), Set (Special)
  5. Something else

I’m also working on a dungeon crawler + roguelike, so if that’s your thing, you can check it out here: Steam page
