Bandai Namco has released Version 2.05.00 for Tekken 8, introducing a range of gameplay refinements, visual updates, and several housekeeping changes that affect replays and ghost data. The update applies starting September 1 at 7:00 PM PDT with scheduled maintenance disrupting online features during rollout. In case you missed it, check out our review.
Additionally, Katsuhiro Harada shared supplementary notes about the update on social media, highlighting changes made to character body proportions. These address a bug where identical chest parameters were being applied across multiple fighters. Though the difference may be subtle in screenshots, Harada noted it becomes more noticeable during live gameplay. Asuka received specific refinements to her shoulders, arms, and neckline, with larger fixes intentionally delayed to avoid stability issues related to customization.
Replays Reset, Ghosts Updated
One of the bigger impacts of the patch is the reset of pre-update replays. All saved replay files, both in “My Replay & Tips” and online sharing, will no longer be viewable. However, ghost data used in Super Ghost Battle and Ghost vs. Ghost matches will remain intact, now reflecting post-patch character performance tweaks.
New Outfit and Discount Event in the Tekken Shop

The in-game Tekken Shop adds a returning outfit in the form of the Devil Jin Costume 01 Set, giving long-time fans something familiar to dress up the winged fighter. Alongside this, a “Tekken Special Deal” event is live for a limited time, offering select customization items at reduced prices.
Player Data Improvements
A new stat-tracking feature has been added under “Play Data.” Players can now view their win rate against individual characters in Ranked Match, potentially offering a clearer picture of who’s giving them trouble. This data begins with Season 2 and won’t include past matchups.
Other tweaks include prioritizing characters with match history in the data display, clearer handling of entries with no match history, and the addition of season labels for supported stats.
Character and Collision Adjustments
Bandai Namco continues refining the game’s technical underpinnings. Version 2.05 focuses on fixing hitbox and collision detection issues across several fighters. This also includes polish for sound effects, voice lines, and VFX across the roster.
Notable Bug Fixes
Fixed a distortion/crash bug related to certain combinations of the “Beach Fun Pack” items.
Resolved a display error in Play Data that affected some users after update connections.
Corrected a matchmaking logic issue in the Tekken Fight Lounge where players could enable “Wait in Lounge” under unintended conditions.
Tekken 8 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
