Been messing around with PBO2 Tuner on my 5800X3D, and I keep seeing people say -30 on the curve is the sweet spot.
Well… mine is perfectly happy at -45. Stable, temps are fine, benches look great. Starting to wonder if I won the silicon lottery here, or if the CPU is just ignoring anything past -30 and I’m placebo’d.
PBO2 limits I’m running:
- PPT: 162W
- TDC: 95A
- EDC: 140A
Current setup:
- MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
- Ryzen 5800X3D
- 128GB DDR4 @ 3600MHz
- RTX 4070 Super Ventus 2x OC
So here’s the question:
- Is -45 actually real or does it silently cap?
- Anyone else manage to push lower than -30?
- Any other tricks to squeeze more out of this chip besides PBO2?
Would love to hear how far you’ve pushed yours too always fun comparing golden samples!
