The flag football season starts on Thursday with the most Alabama High School Athletic Association teams competing ever at 132.
The AHSAA added 23 new teams this season – entering in the mid-classification year – that won’t be eligible for postseason play, but added competition is expected to help lift the quality of play and give a boost to the enthusiasm for the sport.
