I want to talk about this graph, which is the only reason Krafton gave for nerfing DMRs. According to the graph, DMRs have a 17.2% usage to SR's 14.4% in normal matches. If you exclude crate weapons, the VSS (not a true DMR), and the Winchester (not a true SR), then there are six DMRs and three SRs. And that's being generous, since the K9 is literally the same gun as the Mosin. If all DMRs and SRs were to be used equally, then DMRs should have twice (6/3=2) the usage rate of SRs. So if anything, the normal match graph is showing than DMRs are actually underused.
What the graph leaves out is that everyone runs SRs in solos and duos. DMRs are only more popular in squads, which leads to the ranked match graph, where DMRs have 23.1% usage and SRs have 10.2%. So even in squads, which is the format most favorable to DMRs, the distribution is almost exactly the 2:1 ratio you would expect if all guns were used evenly. So if you are a DMR enjoyer, post-nerf you now have zero game modes catering to you. People who preferred SRs already had the ability to play solos or duos and be running the meta gun. Why do they also need to be catered to in squads?
This change is obviously not about equity or balance. Either Krafton wants to sell more non-DMR progressive skins, or they are trying to cater to a less skilled part of the playerbase, and they've used backwards reasoning to justify their changes.
