Robbed from Peter to pay Paul first I downgraded my screen and now I downgraded the subwoofer and then stole speaker stands from my bedroom just to make this basic layout work reeee

Literally this is all used parts almost other than like the case, the GPU, CPU, GPU block and the PC had some new components from 2017 that was originally a $600 budget gaming build with a core i3 and GTX 970.

I traded the GPU for a water-cooling system from 2014 and a PSU, and I still use that Waterloop today lol, and it now has a 9900k and thanks to a stimmy check I never asked for, a 3090 which was actually worth blowing that on imo, can probably make most of that money back soon tbh if I wanted to be a grey market asshole lol especially seeing this one has two GPU blocks on it reeee

Anyway those are really the only new parts here. This is essentially scrapyard wars from LTT but my own sauce. The sound system was around $400 total now that the Velodyne is swapped with this mirage subwoofer. I got the focals from a gangbanger real cheap and fixed them up for around $320 total lol now that I have a real sound processor via USB, I wonder if the audiophile community is still going to try to punch down.

r/Audiophile once attacked my setup for two days straight because I resorted to using optical audio which I am still going to go back to as soon as I sort out picking the best USB optical DAC I can find which is supported by Linux, but I then ended up seeing a post bragging about all this analogue audio equipment that was like 15 grand of stuff,.so I decided to spread a little chaos and ragebait by talking about the price of performance of a $3700 needle vs a $60 4k libre drive blue Ray player for a transport and I kid you not it instantly got me banned from the audiophile subreddit and get this, the main dude controls half a dozen other subreddits and he tried getting me sitewide banned which I had reversed because it didn't actually break reddit policy because of it lol

In short, there is no stupid nano leaf. Yes my room is un treated, and a cheap pair of Sony css5 with a crossover mod in a treated room will sound better than my focals do now

But that's not the point. The entire point of this setup is to slowly aquire a near timeless system that can beat the odds and destroy Goliath while being David. Eventually I'm going to do an AV rack behind the desk that floats above my tiny velodyne subwoofer. Eventually I'll get a second velodyne woofer. I'll be patient and wait until I can grab a 4k Atmos sound processor to do what my outlaw audio unit can do now with its full XLR and RCA pre outs that also supports two sub outs on RCA. It might take a few years for a 4k unit that does e arc and full atmos with 4k 4:4:4 passthrough at the used prices I want. Unless I get such a unit then it will be no better than optical at the end of the day as my PC does 4k gaming given that a 3090 and 9900k are still capable units. I do enjoy racing sims too so lag actually matters.

It's really funny to me that the audiophile community punched down on me but they would have said nothing if I was running e arc on a crappy $300 fake nice unit using my worse passive speakers than my solution I was running lol.

I guess I keep digressing. Scatterstation indeed 🐈

Anyway, it appears I need an actual cable management solution now that I decided to sacrifice 2 feet of room depth for this lol also no idea how I'm going to solve the equipment rack on a budget thing that can also be nearly two feet deep that supports giant AV box gear lol that's why it's sitting on top of the mirage sub at the moment reee
