Battlefield 6 Will Bring Back Classic Maps Based on Community Feedback 1

It’s more good news for Battlefield fans, as the upcoming new game will reintroduce old favourite maps in post-launch updates.

Battlefield 6, launching on PS5 on 10th October 2025, will have nine maps to begin with, one of which is a remake of Battlefield 3’s Operation Firestorm.

However, that won’t be the end of the title’s throwback locations, as Battlefield Studios plans to add more classic arenas to the mix based on requests and feedback from players.

This comes from comments made by development director Anna Narrevik, speaking to Taiwanese outlet GNN. She says they plan to “introduce classic versions or maps based on fan or player requests”.

Narrevik adds that they “want to choose the best possible one[s] to bring back the good old days of playing Battlefield”.

As an aside, game designer Jac Carlsson says that the Portal level editor mode will “allow players to create their own game ideas and versions”, suggesting that maps which don’t get official new renditions could theoretically be rebuilt by the community.

Unfortunately, they stop short of confirming any future returning maps, but it seems the most popular requests could well make it into Battlefield 6 in the months following launch, along with brand new ones of course.

The new game is leaning heavily on the series’ past successes, noting that Bad Company 2 has been a huge inspiration alongside 3 and 4.
