So my computer started smelling funny after doing some video editing today. Went into BIOS and realized that my base clock has still been creeping upwards for no apparent reason. I'd already been thinking about asking why it's doing this cuz I couldn't find any answer on google. All the way up to 104.60MHz on auto now. So for now, I've dropped the FCLK to 1533 and the memory speed to 3066, since it was originally happy at the max. Should be about normal now for the imc. But I'm kind of wondering, could it be a good thing that it's doing this? I just saw a video about how gaming performance goes up pretty well with this chip (3700x) as you oc your memory, and I was not satisfied with how marvel rivals was running back before the base clock started creeping up over time. I don't think I've touched any other settings, not even PBO. Are there any voltages I could tweak to get the memory controller back to turbo speed except without burning? Should I try a negative voltage offset to the SoC since it's using extra juice at those overclocked rates, or would that be dangerous too? I turned the SoC over voltage down 1 bin (it was at +2) along with shooting for 1600 FCLK and it seems fine for now.
