Armor King’s gameplay trailer for Tekken 8 was shown today for the first time during Evo 2025. He’ll become available to early access users on October 13, 2025, and the official release will be on the 16th, three days later.
The official description notes that Armor King is back with a vengeance, with an unmatched aura. Thirsting for revenge, the jet-black villain returns to the ring to claw his way into Tekken 8.
Miary Zo from Madagascar was also revealed as the next DLC character being added into the game, coming in winter of 2025, along with the Baobab Horizon stage.
Armor King is the third DLC character for Season 2 of Tekken 8, while Miary Zo will be the fourth and final character for Season 2.
Miary Zo is a curious lover of animals and their habitats, and she discovered martial arts by mimicking their movements. She shares a close bond with a ring-tailed lemur. Her fighting style is Moraingy and other African martial arts.
“This is the first time we’ve done a new character for the African region; Madagascar off the coast of Africa. Also, for fighting games, maybe the first time we’ve seen a character from this country,” said Katsuhiro Harada through a translator. Harada is the executive game director and chief producer of the Tekken Project.
Kohei ‘Nakatsu’ Ikeda, the director of Tekken 8, along with Harada went to Madagascar after connecting with the local Fighting Game Community scene there, and although the players didn’t know they were creating a character at the time, both of the developers were able to ask a lot of questions about the country and the people there, and working with them to design Miary Zo.
“Please look forward to more details at a further date,” Harada concluded.
