Wild Bunch Productions has posted a new information update for the upcoming Wild Arms spiritual successor, Armed Fantasia.

This update unveils actual battle scene gameplay footage, which is still a work-in-progress, meaning that character models, effects, lighting, and other facets can be adjusted.

Specific mechanisms, namely elemental affinity displays and break turns, which have not received dedicated introductions yet, are highlighted.

The truth is there is still the possibility that we might make significant changes to the battle system, so once the thorough review is complete, we plan to share more battle system info with you at a later date.

The behaviors of the various gauges are also based on temporary values for development purposes, and do not reflect actual data, so please take this as a rough preview of the atmosphere.

About Armed Fantasia

Armed Fantasia, the spiritual successor to the Wild Arms series, takes place in the land of Londenium. The protagonist, Ingram, decides to leave his hometown after his grandfather passes away. He then becomes a Pathfinder, a profession utilizing ARM (Aether Reaction Maximizer) weaponry to rid the world of Anomalies.

Throughout this western punk wilderness, Ingram will make many allies and enemies involved in a battle that will bring Londenium’s past and future to light. Two of his party members are named Euclid Sturges and Alicia Fairhead.

Players can look forward to a “large-scale party-based JRPG adventure,” where an enormous World Map housing puzzles, sea and air navigation with vehicles, and racing with genuine momentum is present. Dungeon exploration will have party members use their Gadgets, which prevail against obstacles in unique ways.

Combat will be turn-based, using the Cross Order Tactics system. “Successive character actions play a key role in the Chain Order, and disruptive Force Breaks interrupt enemy turn order,” so a vast degree of strategy is strongly emphasized.

Armed Fantasia will be released on an unknown date.
