It’s been a little while since we heard any major peep out of Persist Online, the PvPvE zombie shooter MMORPG from developer CipSoft; readers might recall that the last post was about making PvE enemies harder. Well, it would appear that silence wasn’t because the studio was idle, as it’s been busy overhauling its skill system in order to grant players more customization and choice when building out their survivor.

This new skill system will introduce a total of 25 skill trees. Points for these trees are earned when using associated weapons or abilities, which can then be spent to adapt the basic skill’s behavior. In addition to all of this point spend customization, players can also select a specialization for a skill once at least 11 points are spent, improve ultimate abilities, and use badges to increase a skill tree’s level cap.

If all of this sounds kinda confusing on paper, then you’ll be happy to learn that the system will be introduced to playtesters at some point in August. Those who want to kick those tires are asked to register their interest on the game’s site.
