FARGO — Fargo Parks is inviting families to get outside, get active and have some fun through its annual Neighborhood Sports Series, which kicked off Wednesday, July 16, at Clara Barton Park.
Some of the free activities included a soccer camp, youth fitness class and a football toss challenge. Kids also had the opportunity to design their own Fargo Park District T-shirt to take home.
“We just do it to get kids outside and having fun for a little bit, and kind of a not competitive sports setting,” said Amanda Lamp, event supervisor for the Fargo Park District. “So, a lot of games for kids to just try something out and get outside and do something new.”
The events are free and designed to encourage children to try new sports and fitness activities in a relaxed and fun environment.
The next event in the sports series will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Madison Park.
