I was playing COD WWII today on XBOX App on PC since it recently arrived on Game Pass. I was in the middle of a Carentan MP match when I suddenly got disconnected and this message was displayed. What could it be? Should I be worried about my computer being compromised? From what I understand( encountered host migration) and read, COD: WWII is running P2P on XBOX App for PC and there are no dedicated servers. Please advice!

COD WW2 on PC isn’t safe to play online. Either play on console if you can, or disconnected from the internet when playing campaign, or zombies.

The hacker can run code on your PC. Pretty much do anything they want to. Don’t risk it.

Shame on Microsoft for putting this on PC GamePass. I knew this was going to happen to everyone, when they announced it.

Before I realized all of this stuff was happening I downloaded the game as I seen it was on gamepass and figured I’d revisit mp for something to do.

Woke up the next day and seen all these posts and warnings and decided it’s probably not best to play the game. Am I right in assuming I’d have to actively be playing the game to fall victim to this?
