My cmd had something written and wallpaper was changed. Happened after 5 hour play time. Love the game but might not play anymore :/

Yeah, if that’s real, do a virus scan right now. If you’re really worried, I’d factory reset your computer. Also check all of your emails and make sure no one is hacking into your accounts. Once they have control of you computer, they can do anything. Unfortunately, the PC Game Pass version has the same RCE exploits as the Steam version, people just assumed they’d be fixed. Don’t play the PC version of WWII, it is not safe.

yes most likely. from what i’ve read they can fully operate on your computer and install and delete and i think even send messages all on your end. Do a virus scan and if your really really concerned do a factory reset.

I had this too in the first game I joined. I scanned my pc twice once offline and once online and windows defender didn’t show anything. You can also check your emails to see if any funny business has happened there or see if there’s any files that were downloaded that are unfamiliar or just anything that seems off.

  7. The exact same message for me too , i litteraly paid the game pass , install de game 2 matches of shipment and this happends , i used malwarebytes to check if anything weird its on my pc and everything seems to be normal , did you guys haved any problems ( except that you cannot play the game because Activision is a trash )

When dealing with an RCE exploit or a persistent virus, the best move is a full reinstall of Windows 10/11.

Don’t just do a “reset.” That often leaves parts of the malware behind. Instead, get a clean copy of the OS ISO and put it on a USB stick, and use that to completely reinstall Windows while being completely disconnected from the WiFi. It’s the safest way to make sure your PC isn’t still infected by persistent malware.

Glad I was this and ready some of the comments. Honestly I didn’t know WW2 was dangerous. I heard some things about the old MW games a while back.
