SNK has worked to make much of their classic arcade catalog available on pretty much every modern system possible, but now some of them are going away.
The company recently announced they will be delisting a bunch of titles for Android users including a number of fighting games.
These classic NeoGeo titles are set to be removed from the Google Play store at the end of June, so today is presumably the last day to pick them up.
Impacted fighting games include Fatal Fury Special, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters ’97, The King of Fighters ’98 and Samurai Shodown 2.
Other SNK titles getting delisted are Blazing Star, Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2 and Metal Slug X.
• Blazing Star
• Metal Slug
• Metal Slug 2
• Metal Slug x
• Fatal Fury Special
• Garou: Mark of the Wolves
• The King of Fighters ’97
• The King of Fighters ’98
• Samurai Shodown 2
Once removed, players who’ve already owned and downloaded them can continue to use the apps, however, you should be careful about deleting them.
SNK’s press release states that users will be unable to reinstall or download the titls on other devices.
It’s unclear as to why these games are being removed, but the press release says Metal Slug 3 was taken down earlier in the month due to optimization issues.
These delistings do not apply to Apple’s App Store though that could change later.
As for what they’re currently doing, SNK released Andy Bogard for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves last week, and Street Fighter’s Ken Masters will be playable early at Evo 2025.
