Alex, C. Viper, Sagat and Ingrid were recently revealed for the Street Fighter 6 Season 3 roster. Sagat will be released in summer 2025, C. Viper in fall 2025, Alex in early spring 2026 and then finally Ingrid will become available in late spring 2026.

C. Viper made her debut appearance in Street Fighter 4. Though she ended up being joining Marvel vs. Capcom 3, she ended up sitting out of Street Fighter 5’s roster throughout its entire DLC cycle.

However, it’s interesting to note that C. Viper did actually have a presence in Street Fighter 5. More specifically, she had cameo appearances in Rashid, M. Bison, Urien and Juri’s prologues.

With Rashid, she didn’t actually physically “appear” in his prologue. Instead, she traded messages with Rashid with the username “effiepurpnight.” Her avatar was that of a crimson-colored snake.

“It’s best to not get involved with Shadaloo,” said C. Viper as effiepurpnight. “Rumor has it that lots of people connected to them have died.”

“Thanks for your concern, Maya,” responded Rashid. “But, I just won against the Shadaloo guy, so I’ll be OK,” continued Rashid, referring to his prologue battle against Birdie.

This is actually our only indicator that the character that Rashid is talking to is C. Viper as it was revealed in Street Fighter 4 that her real name is “Maya.” Following this, C. Viper sends Rashid Ryu’s coordinates as a way of testing his preparedness for dealing with Shadaloo.

She next appears in M. Bison’s story, mostly acting as the narrator for the entire prologue. She talks about all the characters that have been directly killed by M. Bison.

Eventually, C. Viper herself is discovered by M. Bison and is then attacked. Fortunately for her, she’s able to escape the deadly situation.

It’s interesting to note that C. Viper appears as she did in Street Fighter 4 during these scenes. In later prologues with Urien and Juri, she’s sporting a redesigned look.

Within those prologues, she ends up interrogating Urien before he also attacks her (leading to her escaping once again). For Juri, she just ends up warning her to stay out of trouble or she would go after and arrest her.

This redesigned look for C. Viper incited a lot of speculation and rumors that C. Viper was gearing up to join Street Fighter 5 as a DLC fighter. Strangely, however, things never actually panned out that way.

It certainly felt like Capcom had some sort of plan for C. Viper, otherwise they probably wouldn’t have given her that redesign. Needless to say, many have theorized that Capcom’s DLC plans may have changed along the way.

Of course, this redesign didn’t go entirely to waste as C. Viper in Street Fighter 6 more closely resembles her Street Fighter 5 (non-playable) appearance rather than how she looked in Street Fighter 4.
