Street Fighter 6 is a game with a lot of options. However, these options tend to have a lot of risk attached to them as well and a key part of the game is to condition yourself to always be ready for certain situations that you know are going to come up often.

One such scenario is Drive Impact and any player who is high rank has undoubtedly made sure they can react to one in most scenarios. JuicyJoe, though, has found a very creative way of making sure that reacting to Drive Impact, something you normally should do, will instead spell your doom.

The sequence starts off fairly normal with JuicyJoe having Broski in the corner. As he approaches Broski in the corner, he goes for what seems like an incredibly risky Drive Impact, seeing as JuicyJoe’s HP is far too low to survive a counter, and naturally Broski reacts to it.

Unfortunately, JuicyJoe had set up his portals right before and this is where it all goes wrong all too quickly.

You can check out the full clip below from Broski’s X post where he dubs it a “legitimately upsetting round” — definitely a fair description.

Once the second portal spike hits Broski and thereby goes through the armor, the neutral stance of JP just casually chilling honestly makes it feel even worse. What follows is a standard combo into Critical Art which sets Broski into burnout.

As we all know, being in the corner and burned out against JP is pretty much a nightmare scenario and although JuicyJoe first goes for a lot of chip, even putting himself in burnout in the process, he then basically adds insult to injury with a sneaky shimmy to finish Broski off.

This sequence likely wasn’t a guaranteed checkmate — but it was a very calculated play that must have felt absolutely devastating to be hit by. Props to JuicyJoe, but also kudos to Broski for uploading it as well. I’d probably be too upset to ever want to see it again if it had been me.
