Street Fighter 6 recently turned two years old, and while the game has changed a fair bit over that time, certain things have remained pretty darn consistent.
Capcom has now released their latest character rankings stats for Street Fighter 6 with new ways to track the usage and performance of the highest rated players in the game.
The developers now offer up the data for each of the different Master ranks separately for character usage and match ups, so we can get a better idea of what the spread really looks like at the top.
Overall, Akuma remained the most popular character online for every ranking by a long shot with an over 12% usage rate with Ryu being the closest to him at 8.6%.
The newest fighter as of the May stats, Mai, remained high in her usage too at fifth place last month despite dropping below Juri now.
If you were to take Master rank as a whole, Ryu was actually the number two character there as well, but that starts to change the higher you go up the ladder.
Starting in High Master, Ryu’s usage drops lower and lower below Ken all the way to 11th place in Ultimate Master.
Interestingly, Akuma and Ken’s stats drop more as the ranks increase too, but no one bumps them out of the gold and silver medals.
The only characters within a percentage point of the Shotos are M. Bison and JP in Ultimate Master, so it seems they are still sitting pretty comfortably at the top.
It is important to note, though, that this was before the Season 3 update, so we’ll have to wait and see what changes the next round of stats have to offer, especially with Ryu getting buffed heavily now.
This splitting up of the Master ranks also lets us see a better look at who the least popular characters are at the top, and some of the placements may surprise you.
The bottom 5 least used characters in Ultimate Master are Dhalsim, Chun-Li, Lily, Terry and Guile, which is a fair bit different than the other Master ranks.
As for how the fighters actually performed at the top of the leaderboard, Mai remains the most winning character of the bunch with a rating of 5.1 in Ultimate Master followed by Zangief, JP, Ed, and Dhalsim.
Despite (or perhaps due to) their popularity, Akuma and Ken are around the middle of the pack with win rates slightly below the 50% mark.
The “worst” performers were Terry, A.K.I., Jamie, Luke and Marisa, but all of them were still in the 4.9 range — so things are still pretty darn close together at the top.
The best / worst match ups include Dhalsim and JP beating up on poor Lily along wit the yoga master unsurprisingly slapping around Zangief with each of them having above a 5.8 win rate.
