  1. 800×600 in games my laptop can handle, 640×480 in games not supposed to be played on a 2012 desk laptop

  2. 1440p by this point is the more popular standard for FPS and gaming in general. 1080p is only losing more and more users. Even if the technical number of 1080p users is higher, 1440p is vastly more popular for comp.

  3. I now play in 4k, on a 65"tv at 120hz.
Don't shit on me too much.
    I take my comfort seriously

  4. It's not even nostalgia there's something about the squarer screen that just feels right, more comfortable and enjoyable

  5. 4:3 is the best for isometric or top-down games because vertical screen space is just as valuable as horizontal screen space, but for FPS or third person, I'll stick with 16:9

  6. I find it hilarious that they swear by 4:3 considering when Widescreen started to become popular we all couldn't wait to switch to it because of the higher field of view giving you an advantage.

Remember we always called them monitor or hardware cheaters on LAN, all in good faith because we all wanted one as well, but they were plain too expansive at that time.

The whole 4:3 debate is honestly just a placebo, no, it won't make you better, it's just perception, same as lightweight mice and small keyboards, none of that will make you better at the game.

  7. I play in 4096×2160 on a big ass TV. The aspect ratio would be 17:9. I don't play competitive games tho. I have an old 1080p 16:9 monitor than can do 240hz, but i prefer the 4k@120Hz TV that actually makes the 4090 earn its worth.
