I was bored and wanted to experience some BO4 zombies on PC. I launched the game that previously worked the weeks/month prior or so, only to discover this fatal error 1407 box popping up. The game still fully functions even with the box popping up. The moment I click "OK" is when the entire app shuts down.
After researching this issue, I've tried many of the following with no resolution to the problem:
- Scanning for errors
- Giving admin access
- Reinstalling Battlenet
- Deleting BO4 entirely and reinstalling
- Turning off Windowed Optimizations in settings
I didn't rollback the drivers because they were required for Doom: The Dark Ages to run. I did update them further AFTER the fatal error popped up.
I have to conclude that this is a developer issue entirely. There is no workaround and I just gave up.
