CEO 2025 is a major fighting game tournament that has had players and spectators occupied over this past weekend. One of the games that’s being played as a mainstage title is Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
With more than 460 players competing at Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves this year, this provides us with a great opportunity to better understand where the meta is currently heading. We’ll do this by looking at the character usage stats of the top performing 64 players at the event.
Kain, Hokutomaru, Hotaru and Billy all saw double digit usage in the top 64. Though Billy saw the least amount of usage out of these four in the top 64, more Billy users were able to make it into the top 8 than any other character.
After Billy, there’s actually a huge drop off in terms of character usage. There were a total of nine players using Billy with one more using him as a secondary (making 10 in total). However, Ronaldo, the character that had saw the fifth highest usage in the top 64, only had four players maining him.
In total, 11 out of 17 combatants saw at least some usage at CEO 2025 top 64. The characters that got left out of the action were Preecha, Vox, Tizoc, B. Jenet, Mai and Kim.
Kevin ended up being the only character that wasn’t among the aforementioned top 4 in terms of character usage that was able to break into the top 8. This suggests that success in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves relies heavily on picking one of the top four performing characters right now.
