For any DDR4 overclock aficionado's: PLEASE HELP!!!
I have hit a wall, trying to optimize my timings – I've followed the famous DDR4 OC Guide to begin. I tried using Ryzen DRAM Calculator, but that was an interesting experience (see below).
Basic PC Specs:
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x 16GB), Single-Rank
- MB: ASUS ROG X570-i (ITX), BIOS v5031 (released April 2025)
- CPU: 5600X (chipset and all other drivers up to date)
- Case: NZXT H1 V2, heavily modded (psu fan swap, case fan swap, etc.)
- GPU: 5700 XT
- Windows 11 Pro

The sticker on my physical RAM sticks says I have v5.42 (which is definitely an uncommon version). They're obviously Hynix IC's (TB screenshot in Imgur link above). Not sure if this is MJR (like TB says), or if they're CJR/DJR. I am thinking it could be CJR/DJR because I wasn't even able to select "Hynix MJR" as an option when running Ryzen DRAM Calculator (RDC) – but, I do see people saying that I shouldn't take RDC as gospel.

I took the initial RDC recommended timings and worked backwards from there, to get my timings as tight as I could. After many days of research, I just don't know what to do from here. I want to turn Gear Down Mode OFF, so I can lower my tRTP to 5 (tWR is 10, tWR = tRTP *2).

I feel like my tRC (52) could/should be lower. Not sure how to approach this.

If I turn GDM off, I can't boot. I believe it has something to do with my tRCDRD (10) and TRP (21). I believe that, to turn GDM off, my timings need to be EVEN numbers. How do I balance that with the fact that my tRCDRD/tRP are odd #'s, and I want to lower my tRTP to 5 (tRTP = tWR/2, my tWR is 10).
Any advice/help/etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
