With tickets to state already punched earlier in the week, Thursday marked the next biggest night across the board in the VHSL – as teams battled for not only a region championship, but also the right to a home state quarterfinal game next week.
Many local teams rose to the occasion and won a title, while others will stay alive but have to go on the road to advance to next weekend.
