Although Cain Marko, better known as the Juggernaut, is Charles Xavier’s half-brother, the Juggernaut’s abilities aren’t actually based on a mutation. Instead, the Juggernaut’s powers come from a magical source.

As such, the Juggernaut proved to be a very interesting character in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It’s honestly such a shame that the character was cut going from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (and remained that way for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite).

It would seem that Shumariachi and Eternal Yoshi recently opted to remedy this problem. Through the power of modding, the Juggernaut has been made playable in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

In Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Juggernaut only has access to the Juggernaut Headcrush as a hyper combo. While this particular move did in fact return for this Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 mod, the Juggernaut also gained two new hyper combos.

Interestingly enough, the Juggernaut’s level 3 hyper combo is an install that appears to give him a pretty substantial damage buff. During the brief clip, the Juggernaut is shown performing a touch of death sequence against Colossus (another addition made possible thanks to modding).

With the success of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, the possibility of a Marvel vs. Capcom 4 feels stronger than ever. Should that ever happen, it would be especially interesting to see the Juggernaut return in a 2.5D environment.
