We’re still a few weeks out from the release of Elena in Street Fighter 6, but we can now get a better feel for how she’s going to play in the game.
Capcom just released their official character guide for Elena in Street Fighter 6 going over her moves and special attributes.
Although we’ve already gotten to see plenty of match footage of Elena in action this week, now we can get official descriptions as to how she’ll work in practice.
Capcom describes Elena as a technical character with a “wealth of target combos and special attacks” that can chain together with different moves to give her options to cover almost all situations.
Rhino Horn whiffs on crouching opponents, but it has great corner carry and can launch as part of a combo with the heavy version going almost full screen — and she can get a Scratch Wheel link in the corner.
The Overdrive version allows her to combo into Scratch Wheel and more from anywhere on the screen.
Scratch Wheel is invincible against aerial attacks on all versions, and the OD version serves as an invincible reversal option for the character.
Lynx Song is Elena’s big new addition to her toolkit, which moves her forward while being invulnerable to fireballs, and she can do multiple actions out of the special.
She has Leopard Snap as a quick kick for opponents at a distance while Harvest Circle is follow-up option as well to launch the enemy into the air.
Her old Mallet Smash has also been made part of Lynx Song and retains its overhead properties while also dodging throws and low attacks as she’s airborne.
Finally, there’s Lynx Whirl that makes Elena gain even more momentum and gives her other follow-ups better properties like hitting more times and make her plus on block and hit.
Her Spinning Scythe is also back, and she can cancel into Lynx Whirl from the second hit to get even more combo potential from the move though it’ll whiff on crouching opponents unless she uses the OD version.
Moon Glider is her final new special that sees Elena sway backwards before delivering a hard-hitting set of kicks.
Meteor Volley is Elena’s level 1 Super Art that is only invincible against jumping attacks, but it allows for follow-ups upon hit including itself in certain circumstances.
Revival Dance is her level 2 that is invincible to everything and has two different versions to execute.
The regular version offers a flurry of kicks, but you can also hold down after the first hit to get the healing version instead by trading off some of that damage.
Song of the Grasslands is her level 3 Super that ends with her kicking the opponent into the screen.
